There are three goals an internet marketer has that he has to adhere always in order to earn money: first, is that, he has to rank first or top on internet search engines like Google, Bing, or Yahoo!, second is that, people should be able to visit his site, and third, he should be able to increase his internet traffic and sell the products that he markets.
But how do internet marketing strategists achieve these goals? There are a lot of strategies that have been made for the past years, some were sophisticated while others are quite obvious strategies on increasing your website traffic. But perhaps the oldest marketing strategy is article writing.
It started way back before internet was even invented. On newsprints and local newspapers article writing was already utilized by several businessmen in order to forward their work. That maybe is the reason why article writing was carried on as an invaluable tool and strategy on marketing in the internet.
So, the next question is, what exactly is the article writing strategy? As mentioned earlier, one of the goals of an internet marketer is for his site to top the search engine hence increasing his site traffic. How does article writing achieve this? In order to tell how, we have to know how article writing strategy is done.
First is that, you have to write several articles with the specific keyword or topic related to your website or niche (by several, it means 20-40 per day, with varying number of words depending on the type of article and subtype of article writing strategy).
Then submit them to free article posting sites and give links that supposedly link back to your original or primary website that is used for marketing. One reason why this method is popular among webmasters is that the article posting site that you would be submitting your articles to is absolutely free.
But, what is the twist to this strategy or the logic on how it makes your site a top search? Well, by submitting loads of articles to article posting sites or blog platforms (like posting on your site on WordPress), you create a great magnitude of backlinks to your website.
For example, you posted hundreds or thousands of articles with specific keywords or topic related to your website (ie. cancer prevention), hundreds and even a thousand backlinks would also refer to your site.
Here’s the catch: search engines like Google evaluate the ‘usefulness’ of your site through the number of backlinks to your website, so if you have many backlinks than other competitors, for sure you’ll get that top spot, since Google would somehow think that your site is useful. This strategy though is more of a Search Engine Optimization strategy.
However, the more obvious application of article writing is by catching the attention of your readers which are supposedly buyers. If your marketing for an anti-aging cream or weight loss program. You could write articles about aging and weight loss and then inserting your product somewhere on the middle of that article.
You could also add convincing arguments as to how the product really works, would make readers think that, “Hey, this article is good and this product might be effective, I should go try it out.” Then, you provide links back to your website where you sell that product or program. That is how article writing is used in a more direct manner of marketing.
But, however you use article writing on marketing online, the bottom line is the articles you submit should be unique since Google or any search engines evaluates the level of ‘usefulness ’ of your site as less useful if the backlinks or articles associated with it is redundant and a lot of clone exists in the internet.
So, the end line is, despite its simplicity and being straightforward as a strategy, article writing is very tedious and requires so much effort and time. But, despite that, article writing still, is by far the most effective and efficient way of marketing online for may internet marketers.
